SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pavilion was inaugurated at the 37th India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on Tuesday.
A.K.Srivastava, chief commissioner, Investment Promotion Centre, Meghalaya, inaugurated the pavilion in the presence of M.N. Nampui, secretary to the government of Meghalaya and director of information and public relations, S.R. Marak, joint resident commissioner, Meghalaya House, officials from different departments and entrepreneurs.
Earlier, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the fortnight long fair organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). The theme of IITF 2017 is ”Start up India, Stand up India”. The departments representing Meghalaya at the IITF include agriculture, horticulture, commerce and industries, tourism, sericulture and weaving.
Apart from government departments, 10 units sponsored by different departments drawn from various parts of the state are also participating in the fair for promotion and display of indigenous products, an official press release issued here stated.
