SHILLONG: Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) has welcomed the move of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) to restore non-vegetarian food but will inspect the hospital to verify the same.
In a statement issued here, the HSPDP criticised the PRO of the hospital, KK Pandita who denied that non-vegetarian food items were restricted from being served in the hospital premises.
It may be noted that HSPDP has been up in arms against NEIGRIHMS for not serving non-vegetarian food and has raised the objection with the Union health minister JP Nadda.
NEIGRIHMS has clarified that there is no such restriction and non-vegetarian foods are necessary as a protein-rich diet for the patients.
