Shutdown Notice
The Assistant Executive Engineer, Khliehriat Distrubution Sub-Division-I has informed the general public that the 33/11KV Bus at Moowakhu Sub-Station will be put under shut-down from 10 am on Wednesday to 4 pm of Thursday, due to an emergency installing, testing and commission of the new 11KV panel and laying of new XLPE 1-core power cable. The power supply to the whole of Khliehriat, Ladrymbai, Rymbai, Iooksi, Sutnga, Jalaphet, Saipung, Sumer, Nongkhlieh, Shangpung, Mookaiaw, Ialong, Phramer, Tuber and the adjoining area will be affected on this day.
IMLF drive
In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of October, the officials detected 27 cases and seized 362.040 litres of i/d liquor and 105.100 litres IMFL and 23 persons were arrested.
NCC Day
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of Budha Bhanu Saraswati College celebrated the NCC Day on Tuesday, wherein the cadets performed a parade drill in presence of the teaching faculty and the students of the college. The Principal motivated the students by citing an example of Dolynee Kharbhih, former NCC Girls cadet of the college and the second girl from Meghalaya to scale the Mount Everest and urged the students to try to emulate her feat.
Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong Mawlai Kynton Massar will organise a cleaning drive from December 12 and has urged residents to participate in the cleaning drive.
Training programme
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority in association with Department of Horticulture organised a day long training programme on pineapple under the Cluster Development Programme at District Horticulture Office, Nongpoh on Tuesday. The programme was attended by 50 progressive pineapple farmers from the state.
