SHILLONG: The visit of Union Home Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh to Shillong has been postponed to December 7 from December 5.
State BJP president Shibun Lyngdoh said on Thursday that during his visit, Singh will inaugurate the new party office and address booth level karyakarta sammelan of 29 Assembly constituencies in East Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi, Shillong City, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
The party’s national general secretary in-charge North East, Ram Madhav, and other leaders are expected to accompany Singh.
The state BJP is working out the details of the programme.
Sources said Singh was assigned to inaugurate the party office as BJP national president Amit Shah is busy for the Gujarat polls.
There were media reports that five sitting legislators will join BJP but the party sources indicated that their entry may not be during the visit of Singh.
