SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Agricultural Students and Graduates Association (MASGA) has asked the department to clear the confusion of over its advertisement regarding the four-year degree course.
The advertisement states that there is no job guarantee after course completion and at the same time the bond cum agreement legally binds quota students to serve in the state department after completion of their course when requirement arises.
The association pointed out that even after a decade, the department has failed to absorb the state quota candidates as was always done by the department before and this has directly contributed to the rising unemployment of graduates who have completed their part of the bond cum agreement by completing the degree from the designated state and central agriculture universities. “The question is why it has spent so much money to educate and train the meritorious students in a field where they are not able to contribute to their scientific knowledge for the development of the farming community in Meghalaya,” the association said.
