NONGSTOIN: Shallang coal traders are yet to take advantage of the Supreme Court’s recent order allowing transport of extracted coal in the state till March next.
Traders from the area are blaming the DMR department for the delay in issuing coal challan.
An annoyed coal trader from Shallang said it is almost a month that the Supreme Court extended coal transportation for four months but DMR and the Transport Department are yet to open their offices.
He added that in Nongstoin and other districts like Jaintia Hills, transportation has started.
The coal traders have demanded that the government take immediate step to solve the matter.
