SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya on Thursday heard a suo motu case on the deficiencies in the health sector in the state.
During the hearing, senior counsel HS Thangkhiew, who had been attending the meetings of the Supervisory Committee, submitted a report stating that the regular weekly meetings were held and substantial progress in several areas of deficiency has been made.
Thangkhiew further stated in his report that fortnightly meetings would be sufficient.
Taking note of the submissions that were made in modification of the earlier order dated on August 16, it was decided that the meetings of the Supervisory Committee may be held twice a month on the date and time as settled by the Chairperson i.e., the Chief Secretary of the Government of Meghalaya.
The matter has been listed for another hearing in March next year.
