Truck detained
A truck with Assam registration number was detained by Ri Bhoi police around 2.30am on December 14 for attempting to evade the weighbridge at 13th Mile in Byrnihat. However, the driver fled the scene leaving the truck behind.

Accident
On December 13 around 10 pm, a motorcycle (AS-03L-5376) ridden by Tenzing Norbu (22) lost control and and fell into a gorge at View Point, Ryndangbriew in East Khasi Hills. Norbu and the pillion rider sustained injuries.

Theft
Bonsin Dkhar lodged a complaint that around 5 pm on December 10, unknown miscreants stole Rs 80,000 in cash along with gold ornaments worth Rs. 1,20,000 from his house in Sohlap Shella Bazaar.
On December 13 around 10.30 pm, residents of Dulong Jowai apprehended one Heimon Lamare while attempting to commit theft in a car. The residents assaulted and handed Lamare over to the police.
Ajay Kumar lodged a complaint that around 10 am on December 12, he hired one auto rickshaw from Aim Byrnihat to Rajabagan in Ri Bhoi, but the driver along with other four occupants of the auto rickshaw took him towards CMJ University at gun point where they stopped midway and asked him to get into a Maruti van (A/F) which was parked on the roadside. After refusing to get into the van, they assaulted him and fled away with Rs. 13,550 and one mobile phone.
Rajesh Giri lodged a complaint that on the evening of December 11 that two unidentified persons attempted to steal his vehicle (ML-08E-7488) which was parked at Hawakhana, Tura .However, when an alarm was raised, the culprits fled and left the vehicle behind.
Babu Singh Sisodia lodged a complaint that on December 13, he had parked his Mahindra pick-up truck on the Queen Hotel premises at Jorabat, Ri Bhoi. However, the vehicle was found missing on December 14.
In another incident, On December 7 around 3.30am, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero pick-up truck belonging to Josing A. Sangma from his residence at Garobadha.

ATM fraud
Eboni Khyllep lodged a complaint that around 8 pm on December 11, he received a phone call from one person claiming to be an SBI official who asked him to provide his ATM card details. The complainant gave him the details and later found that Rs 37,798 was withdrawn from his account.

Threat
Mary Margaret Khyriem lodged a complaint that on December 14, one Kerry Herbert Khyriem threatened her with dire consequences at Laitkor, Mawarling.

Assault
Baia Kharpuri and Odik Kharpuri lodged a complaint saying on December 11 around 8 am, Pynshai Chyne and Bonsineng Dkhar forcibly dragged a 14-year-old boy from his house and took him to a house at Sohlap village, East Khasi Hills, where another person by the name Ritstarland Chyne assisted them in assaulting the minor on grounds of theft.
A lady lodged a complaint that on December 10 around 8 pm, one Lovely Chyrmang of Myrjai village assaulted her fourteen year old daughter in his Maruti Alto car (number not known). Police have taken the accused into custody.
Adarsh Jhunjhunwala lodged a complaint that on December 6 around 2.40 pm, unknown miscreants entered the premises of JUD Cements at Wahiajer Narpuh village in East Jaintia Hills and illegally locked the weighbridge of the factory by threatening the employees with dire. Jhunjhunwala again reported that on December 7 around 11.37 am, another group of miscreants entered the factory and locked the weighbridge. The miscreants also destroyed the weighbridge related articles and manhandled the employees.

Minor help
Maitshaphrang Nongbet, Labour Inspector, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint on December 13 that Trishna Borgohain of Nongthymmai, Nongshiliang, is employing a 13-year-old girl as domestic help.

1 dies in accident
On December 12 around 8pm, a pick-up truck driven by Thomas Sangdiang met with an accident at Umli Rynniaw village in West Khasi Hills. This resulted in the death of Wolningstar Lyngkhoi (45). Necessary formalities have been observed and the body was sent for postmortem.

Robbery averted
On December 11, four persons were arrested when they were on their way to Ladrymbai in a Maruti car. The men have been identified as Emlang Langstang, Return Lyngdoh, Michael Lyngdoh and Binoy Boro. According to police, they had information that the persons were on their way to Ladrymbai area with the intention to commit robbery.

Kidnap bid
Alison D. Sangma lodged a complaint that on December 6 around 9.30 pm, one Silgrak D Sangma Kalu along with one Bustind Sangma broke into his house at Dikokgre in West Garo Hills and attempted to kidnap him at gunpoint. However, when the complainant resisted, the miscreants fled. The complainant later stated that on December 8 around 4.30pm; he had received a phone call from the same miscreants who threatened him with dire consequences.
