SHILLONG: The Sohra Government College Students’ Union (SGCSU) has set a month’s deadline for the state government to appoint a permanent principal. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Edelbert Khongrymmai, president of SGCSU, said the college does not have a permanent principal for two months.
“The absence of a full-time principal has affected the functioning of the college in terms of teaching and finances,” said Khongrymmai and threatened to agitate if the government fails to act within the stipulated time.
The union also expressed concern over the delay in implementing the scheme of Rs 1.40 crore as announced by the minister Roshan Warjri.
