SHILLONG: The Mairang Block Congress Committee (MBCC) has expressed its gratitude to the state government for including Tirot Sing Memorial College in the list of community colleges.
MBCC said the list of community colleges shows that the government has shown its interest for all round development. The colleges will give students access to quality education, MBCC said.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
