TURA: Unidentified miscreants entered a classroom of the Janapriya Higher Secondary School at Chibinang in Phulbari earlier this week and destroyed school documents by setting them on fire.

According to school authorities, the miscreants entered through a window with a weak grill on Wednesday night and after going through the materials inside a closet set them on fire.

The fire destroyed school ledgers, documents including tests papers and a table. The fire was detected by the night watchman who alerted police with whose help it was doused.

This is the second time in less than a year that unidentified criminals have targeted torched property in the school.

West Garo Hills police have begun an investigation into the incident.
