SHILLONG: Shillong Police have resorted to extra security deployment for both Christmas and New Year events in and around Shillong city.
East Khasi Hills SP, D Marak has called upon revelers to desist from drinking and driving.
Police have also issued alco meters to all police stations and traffic branches besides nakas would be set up around the town to check drunken driving and other nuisance.
While wishing the citizens on the occasion, police also asked to stay safe on road while advising them to abide by the Supreme Court order and desist from playing loud music after 10 P.M.
