Baskeball tourney concludes in Tura

TURA: Trojans Club emerged champions on Thursday by defeating Lycans Club in the finalsof the men’s Basket Ball Tournament organised by Street Ballers at Matchakolgre locality in Tura.

Aspiring Congress candidate for South Tura, Anamika J G Momin who was the chief guest on the occasion,  said that to develop sports activities among the youth, it was necessary to identify their potential and give them proper training at the school and the college level.

With regard to infrastructure Momin said that there was an urgent need to upgrade the Indoor Stadium at Tura so that the youth can make use of its facilities. Momin also called for organisation of more state level tournaments to provide a platform for youths to compete at the national level.

Teams from different parts of Garo Hills like Baghmara, Williamnagar and Resubelpara participated in the tournament alongside teams from different localities of Tura.
