Shops gutted in night blaze in Tura

TURA: A house and two adjoining shops we’re gutted in a blaze that broke out on Friday night in Chandmari market area of Tura town.

An electrical circuit breakdown is suspected to be the cause of the blaze which broke out shortly after 7 in the evening.

The blaze quickly spread to the wooden houses which were located adjoining each other in the same vicinity.

The shops that were engulfed in the inferno were close to the main road and traffic had to be halted for over an hour as fire tenders fought the blaze.

A departmental store along with a mobile recharge point and a house were destroyed in the fire. Traffic was restored only by 8:30 pm after the fire was put out.
