Accident
On January 7 around 4.30 pm, one Maruti Alto (ML-05D-8945) driven by William Passah knocked down Soni Chettri (75) at Jhalupara, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted in Hospital
On January 7 around 9.50 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05K-8363) driven by Teiboklang Mon collided with one Maruti Alto (ML-05D-4822) driven by John S Lyngkhoi at Mawlai Nongkwar, Shillong. As a result, the former sustained injuries and was admitted in Hospital.

Theft
On January 7 around 3 am, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-3422) belonging to Pilbarth Ch Marak from his residence at Rongchugre village under Ampati Police Station.
Samir Das lodged a complaint that on January 7, one Sonu Singh stole a CD player, clothes and house hold items from the apartment of the complainant at Quinton Road, Shillong.
On January 7 around 2.45 pm, miscreant stole a car tape along with a pen drive from a Maruti car (AS-01AM-1131) belonging to Garry Wanteilang Dohling parked at Laitumkhrah, Shillong. In this connection, police arrested one John Kharhunai (30) and recovered the stolen articles from his possession.

Guesthouse owner cheated
George Basaiawmoit lodged a complaint that between January 6-8, one Raj Roy booked his guest house and on his arrival, he stated that he had lost his wallet containing money and documents and that he will make payment through net banking and borrowed Rs 2000 from the complainant. Roy did not make any payment and his ID proof was also found to be fake.

Assault
On January 5 around 10.30 am, one Mahananda Hajong (27) of Tarapara village assaulted three persons Dinobondhu Hajong (55), Deboloi Hajong (30) and Premananda Hajong (37) at the same village (WGH) with a ‘dao’. As a result, all the victims sustained injuries and were shifted to CHC Mahendraganj from where they were referred to CH Tura for better treatment. Later, Dinobondhu Hajong succumbed to his injuries.
