Minor girls fleeing home handed over to relatives

SHILLONG: Two thirteen-year-old girls   from Guwahati who fled their home were handed over to their family in Guwahati by Meghalaya police.

On Friday, at about 10.30 pm, Gasper Jones Hynniewta, who is a driver of tourist vehicle (ML-05N-3378) handed over two minor girls aged13 years who hail from Ganeshguri, Guwahati, Assam, at Mawlai Police Station.

The girls boarded the vehicle from Khanapara and on reaching at Mawiong, Shillong, all passengers get off the vehicle, except the two girls.

During enquiry, the girls stated that they fled their home after quarrelling with their relatives. Both of them were sent for medical examination and handed over to Shelter Home. On Saturday, they were handed over to their relatives.
