SHILLONG: The Congress and BJP will release the names of candidates next week following the announcement of the poll date on Thursday.
MPCC president Celestine Lyngdoh said the election committee of the party will meet next week to finalise the candidates.
BJP is also trying to release the first list of candidates at the earliest.
“We hope to release the first list of 20 candidates which have already been forwarded to the central leaders for approval,” Lyngdoh said.
