Missing persons
Md. Arif Hussain, a businessman from Jadi village in South Garo Hills was reported missing and is suspected to have been abducted.
Jaya Devi lodged a complaint that her son Karan Kumar Das was missing from their residence at Pynthorbah, Block-II since January 9.
Duped
Tilak Sharma lodged a complaint that around 12.40 pm on January 12, he received a call from one person who identified himself as Deepak Sharma, Branch Manager, SBI Shillong Branch. Sharma asked for the complainant’s bank account details. The complainant provided the details and later received a text message that an amount of Rs 29,999 has been withdrawn from his account.
Brig. KK Tripathi lodged a complaint that on December 29, 2017, he received two text messages on his cell phone that two transactions for the amount of $44140 and $44140 were done through his Citibank Credit Card at LEISURE PASS NORTH A,FX. The complainant suspected that the transactions were initiated fraudulently from overseas.
Attempt to murder
Don Phalyngki lodged a complaint that on December 30, 2017, his brother-in-law Sein Tariang burnt down the complainant’s cowshed at Mynsngat village in West Jaintia Hills. And on January 1, the accused attempted to murder the complainant.
Threat
Marius Marbaniang of Nongrah Lummarboh lodged a complaint that around 9.30 pm on January 13, Banteilang Ripnar was found creating nuisance and disturbing peace in the locality. He also threatened the complainant with dire consequences.
Theft
A businessman in Police Bazar, Saiful Islam, lodged a complaint that on January 12 circa 4.30 pm, miscreants stole 10 bundles of wires, two grinder machines, 200 tower bolts, 70 aluminum handles and other items from his godown.
