SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has criticised former legislator AL Hek saying he joined BJP “to get his things done as a businessman”.
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Sangma said some people shift allegiance depending on their convenience and “people know why he joined the Congress earlier and now BJP”.
“AL Hek thought that with the whole power in Delhi, he will have contacts and get things done not for the sake of governance but as a businessman and he has been candidly telling the whole world that he is a businessman,” the chief minister said and added that the party would raise this during poll campaign.
Hek, along with Sanbor Shullai, Robinus Syngkon and Justine Dkhar, joined BJP recently.
When asked about the reconciliation attempts by the Congress, Sangma said it was the personal opinion of Vincent Pala and the party did not mandate anyone to reconcile with the MLAs who left the party.
