SHILLONG: The state Congress has appealed to its former legislator RG Lyngdoh to return to the party fold.
The working president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Vincent Pala, in a letter addressed to Lyngdoh on Wednesday recalled the conversation that the Shillong MP had with Lyngdoh and wanted the veteran leader to come back.
“You may kindly recall the conversation that we had few days back. I just wanted to remind you that you have been suspended from the party in 2008 to 2014, as such your suspension period is over now and I would deeply appreciate if you come back to the party of which your illustrious father has been one of the pillars in the state,” Pala said in the letter. Pala also said his appeal to Lyngdoh as a friend was to join and participate in all the Congress programmes once again.
“I am sure you will not turn a deaf ear to my earnest request,” Pala said.
When contacted, Pala, who is hoping for the return of the former legislator, said he personally met Lyngdoh on Wednesday and reiterated the need for him to come back to the party.
Lyngdoh’s response is yet to be known as he did not return the calls.
