Appeal
The District Election Officer, WJH has warned that if anyone is found offering or accepting bribe during elections, the person will be punished and imprisoned for up to one year along with a fine as per Section 171 B. Immunization
The office of the District Medical & Health Officer, EKH will conduct the first round of the National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme for children below 5 years on January 29 from 9 am onwards in booths that have been arranged throughout the district. There will be door-to-door search on January 30-31.

The Election Department is organising a ‘Run for Democracy’ at Polo Ground at 7 am, and converge at Fire Brigade Ground at 8:30 am on Thursday. The programme will continue at Fire Brigade Ground from 10:00 am, where Chief Secretary Y Tsering will be present.

The Shillong Cantonment Board Employees’ union has informed that no meeting will be convened in the absence of the general secretary. The meeting has been proposed to be held in March.
