SHILLONG: Central security forces have started arriving in the state ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled for February 27.
A police official said 10 companies of central forces have arrived in batches on Monday and Tuesday.
Earlier, another 10 companies were already available with the state police.
The Centre had sanctioned 100 companies of central-paramilitary forces and the remaining 80 companies will come 10 days before the polls, the official added.
The Election Department had, earlier, asked for 107 companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces for the Assembly elections.
