SHILLONG: Congress candidate from Mawsynram, Himalaya M Shangpliang continued his attack on the sitting MLA P N Syiem saying the sitting legislator has failed in all fronts be in term of roads, health care, farmers and drinking water.

Talking to journalists after filing his nominations, the Bureaucrat turned politician claimed that people of Mawsynram are looking for a change and they will give a befitting reply to the present sitting legislator,

Exuding confidence that the Congress will retain the Mawsynram seat, he said that prominent leaders of the PDF were switching sides and joining Congress which itself showed the lack of confidence they had on him (Syiem).

While highlighting his priorities, the Congress candidate said that the state still needed proper policies in place adding that he would ensure that broom got recognised as an agricultural produce.

Responding to query, he said that Syiem had failed to ensure that Mawsynram became a civil sub-division despite including the same in his manifesto during the last 2013 election.
