SHILLONG: Former Union Minister and Congress leader, Anand Sharma has accused that there is a `match-fixing’ between the National People’s Party (NPP) and  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  whereas United Democratic Party (UDP)  is a side player in the state

Speaking to media persons in Shillong, he said that the BJP had ventured into North East to break politics while alleging that  Himanta Biswa Sarma  who was the main target in BJP’s previous report is now their best man in the region.

Slamming the regional parties, he said that   parties who despite being a part of NEDA claims to have no  connection with BJP are insulting the voters of the state  even as he alleged that these parties were  funded by the BJP itself.

Citing an example, he said that the NPP MLA Conrad Sangma was supported by the BJP in the Tura by polls and both NPP and BJP has formed a Government in Manipur which  reveals that they are working hand in glove.

“NPP is a repeated and habitual offender,” he said.

Commenting on BJP’S Mission document, he said that the BJP would promise stars and moons and they were known for selling dreams and betraying people.

Criticising the Prime Minister of destroying jobs in the country, he said that the vision document  of BJP has no vision

Meanwhile, he also alleged the Union Government in the last four years gave step motherly treatment to Meghalaya and the support from Central Government was not coming to Meghalaya.

He pointed out that it was the UPA Government which gave major institutes like IIM Shillong and NEIGRIHMS to Meghalaya.

He also said that a Manipur-like  situation would  not arise in Meghalaya where BJP formed the Government by cheating even as he added that the Congress MLAs who would win the elections would not desert the party.

“ I don’t think we will need alliance with anyone as we will form the Government  alone,” he said.
