SHILLONG: Finding that a cheque of Rs 28 lakh was bounced, a woman, Mildres Pyngrope filed a counter FIR against National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from West Shillong constituency, Havergail Bareh.
Bareh had earlier filed an FIR in which she alleged that Pyngrope had threatened her which was refuted by Pyngrope as false and concocted.
A counter FIR was filed by Mildres Pyngrope against Havergail Bareh for giving the complainant a bounced Cheque “989955” of Rs 28 lakh dated November 8, 2017 for which she has tendered and submitted at Mawlai Branch of SBI twice on November 7, 2017 and February 2, 2018.
Pyngrope filed an FIR before the Officer in Charge of Sadar Police Station that she had not received the said amount from Bareh and alleged dishonesty and cheating on the part of Bareh by admitting that she would repay the hand loan amount.
Later, Pyngrope found that the cheque was bounced.
In the FIR, Pyngrope mentioned that legal action should be taken against Bareh for misrepresentation, misconstrued and mental harassment meted to her.
In a press statement, Pyngrope said that the Cheque was returned back to her by the Bank twice as there was no sufficient amount money in Havergail Bareh Account.
“But surprisingly I found in Thiar.in.com online digital news, Havergail Edwina Bareh figured as one of the richest candidate of MLA Election 2018 from NPP which shows her assets and money up to around Rs 5,31,41,149,” she said.
