KHNAM welcomes support from non-tribals

SHILLONG: Several BJP, Congress and UDP supporters from North Shillong constituency have joined the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) to extend their support to KHNAM candidate from North Shillong constituency, Adelbert Nongrum.
In a statement issued here, the KHNAM said that almost 84 members were from BJP. The BJP supporters were led by the executive member of BJP Mondal Committee North Shillong and vice president of Bharatya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) North Shillong. Most of the UDP and Congress supporters were from Jail Road, Oakland, Police Bazaar, Lawmali and other places.
During the welcoming function, working president of KHNAM, Nongrum expressed delight at the support of non-tribals to the party. He added that the party is opposed to illegal immigrants and if genuine non-tribals do not cooperate with the indigenous people, it will difficult to curb illegal immigrants.
