SHILLONG: The BJP has demanded the enhancement of central security force in the state to ensure protection to voters and overall security of poll-bound Meghalaya.
Addressing reporters on Monday, BJP spokesperson, Nalin Kohli spoke about the turbulent law and order situation in certain pockets in Garo Hills.
Stating that there has to be clarity on intelligence input, he said, “We demand that Central Security force must be increased. “
He added that additional assessment for security requirement  had to be there so that there was no intimidation to politicians or functionaries.
According to Kohli, role of Election Commission is important and security assessment has to be made urgently.
He said that it is about time that the “unholy nexus” of militants with politicians should not have a place in a democracy.
