SHILLONG:  Union Minister and  BJP leader  Babul Supriyo on Thursday evening sang a Bengali song of  great poet Rabindranath Tagore at Jail Road to woo the voters to vote for the   BJP.

Addressing a public meeting,    he also sang the few lines of famous Bollywood song “ kaho na Pyar hai”.

Earlier,   Babul Supriyo  also slammed the State Government saying the fish market located right at Jail Road does not have a roof and only   steel beams were on the market even as he expressed his displeasure at the place saying the meeting could have been organized at a better place.

The singer-turned-politician  castigated the State Government over developmental issues even as he added that the AICC president, Rahul Gandhi had hired a new social media team and he just repeated what his social media team said.

Expressing confidence that Tripura will be the  20thBJP ruled state in the country, he also said that Congress always disrupted the  parliament  by making noises.

Later, speaking to media persons, he said that In North East there are many small lanes in North East whereas Congress had indulged in scams in big lanes of the region

“ With our allies here, we will create ripples after so many years of misgovernance,” he said

Stating that the region has been neglected , he added that it was important for every part of the country to get same nurturing from the Centre.

He also said that the infrastructure was bad here and BJP would deliver infrastructure.
