The party, meanwhile, also promised to pursue the recommendation of the Majithia Wage Boards and see that the same is implemented in Meghalaya for the benefits of journalists working in all media houses in the state.

Vijay Raj told reporters that the party was committed to strengthen border area by encouraging and facilitating the development through the Border Areas Development to ensure that people living in the border are economically empowered.

The NCP also stressed on the need to stop infiltration across the border and encroachment on bordering states saying the party wants to achieve this through special assistance to the border area people who will be given full opportunity to get their land registered free of cost and police stations will be set up in those places where there is a border dispute.

The party, however, played safe on the issue of Inner Line Permit (ILP) saying   the party would like tourism to develop properly to economically empower the people of the state

“I don’t say we are against ILP but apart from ILP there are also many other methods by which infiltration can be stopped like adopting a three-tier system,” he stated.
