2 dead, scores injured in bus accident near Williamnagar

TURA: Two passengers were killed and dozens injured when the bus they were travelling in lost control and went off the road and capsized at Khera village, on the road to Songsak 13 kms from Williamnagar on Saturday morning.
The Niku travels public bus overloaded with passengers was coming from Mendipathar town in North Garo Hills to Williamnagar via Dagal and Songsak when the driver lost control at around 9 am.
In the light of elections and vehicle requisition there has been a massive shortage of public transport in the Garo Hills forcing travellers to board whatever vehicle they can get their hands on.
While one of the passengers died on the spot another critically injured victim passed away in Williamnagar civil hospital. Several other critically injured passengers have been referred to Tura and other hospitals outside of the district.
