ULFA-I condoles Sohan death

SHILLONG: The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I) has expressed its condolences regarding the death of GNLA commander- in-chief Sohan D Shira.
Major Arunudoy Asom, Assistant Information and Publicity of the outfit, released the statement on Sunday on behalf of Chief of Staff of ULFA-I Paresh Asom (Baruah).
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, leaders, officers, soldiers and the beloved Garo people of deceased Commander-in-Chief, Sohan D Shira of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), who took his last breath on February 23”, Paresh said.
“A hardworking man with an amiable personality which was a great asset for his group in bringing unity among the Garo people and taking forward the Garo cause with fortitude which will be given any revolutionary inspiration to fight on”, Paresh claimed and added that it is undoubtedly an irreplaceable loss for the Garo region.
“Due to infirmity, he unfortunately had to leave this world his work unfinished, but, nevertheless undefeated at the hands of the treacherous Indian establishment, with the laurel on his head as a Garo national hero”.
The ULFA-I leader also wished him eternal peace as “he will live among us through his ideologies and the principles forever”.
