Missing
On March 11, a girl of Rangmen, Nongsder Block-4, Ri Bhoi was reported missing while she was on her way to Nongsder.
Motorcycle missing
Darihun Khongjee of 8th Mile, under Khanapara PS, Ri Bhoi lodged a complaint that on March 11 at 3 am, one motorcycle (ML-10B-5782) belonging to her brother was found missing from near ITC Godown.
Theft
District Mission Coordinator, Dist. Unit, SSA-SEMAN, East Garo Hills Williamnagar, lodged a complaint that on the night of March 10, miscreants broke into the DMC-SSA office and stole the office computer along with CPU, Monitor and others.
Bangladeshi national
Collin L Shabong lodged a complaint that on February 25, one Bangladeshi national identified as Md. Akad Miah (20) was apprehended from Pynursla, East Khasi Hills for illegally migrating to the country. Police arrested the accused.
Fraud
Md. Abdul Ali lodged a complaint that he had given the original documents of his tourist vehicle (ML-05P-0939) to his driver namely Md. Mainul Haque. However, the driver is untraceable since December last.
Abhinoy Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that in May 2017, he along with Akash Lyngdoh and S. Lyngdoh came in contact with Vinod Kumar Yadav of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, through the website ‘Indiamart’, who later represented M/s Shivangi Building a company that constructs swimming pools, finalised the contract in Shillong and paid Rs. 1 lakh as advance for construction of a swimming pool at Sumer, Lawbyrwa, Ri Bhoi. However, Yadav has not completed the swimming pool and is absconding.
Mobile tower camp robbed
On March 10 around 8.30 pm, two armed miscreants went to a mobile tower labour camp at Nongkylla Mikir, Ri Bhoi under Byrnihat PS and robbed money and cell phone from the labour. Matter is under investigation.
Man steals blazers from shop
Naveen Singhania lodged a complaint that on March 10, one person stole three blazers from his shop viz., M/s Shubham at AC Lane, Police Bazar, Shillong. In this connection, Police arrested Galleed Lyngdoh Mawnai.
Man held for planning abduction
On March 8, Police have arrested Lomistone D Sangma from Juminggre area, West Garo Hills, however, his accomplices managed to escape. During investigation, it transpired that the accused with others were conspiring to form a militant organisation and were planning to kidnap one owner of JCB earth mover and other businessmen from the locality.
Robbery
John Paul Mawsor lodged a complaint that on March 8 at 7.15 pm, 8 to 9 miscreants, looted cash Rs. 1,40,000 and two cell-phones from the employees of a gate at Riangmaw village, West Khasi Hills.
Miscreants break into two houses, steal cash
Kmor Kharbteng lodged a complaint that on March 7 around 6.45 pm, she found that miscreants have broken into her house at Mawiong Umjapung, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 80,000.
Philsimary Kharbudnah lodged a complaint that on March 7, miscreants broke into her house at Mawiong Umjapung, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 1,40,000.
