SHILLONG: CSWO and other RTI activists condemned the murder of Jaintia Youth Federation president Poipynhun Majaw.
They also vowed to follow up the cases taken up by the youth leader against cement plants, the CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing said, during a candle light vigil in the city on Thursday.
Kharshiing said that they will wait for the findings of the police investigation, adding the perpetrators must be booked at the earliest.
RTI activists from Ri Bhoi, lawyers who often file RTIs, Naba Bhattacharjee and other leaders of pressure groups attended the candle light vigil organised by CSWO and other NGOs to express solidarity.
Majaw was found murdered at Khliehriat on Monday night.
The slain leader was hit from behind on his head with a metallic object four to five times.
