Unanimous decision
An unanimous decision was taken by the Pentecostal Church, landowners and bootleggers to pass an order that there should not be any business activity after 10 pm and that it is the duty of the landowners to make sure that all shops are closed after the said time.

Office bearers
The Dainabudi Area Development Youth Association recently held a meeting and elected new office bearers. The meeting elected Gerelson Marak as the president, Menarth Marak as secretary, Galibar Marak as joint secretary, Parith Momin as treasurer and Jiru Babel Sangma as the adviser along with 12 other newly appointed executive members.
Recruitment forms
The application forms for the on-going recruitment to fill up various vacancies under Civil Defence and Home Guards will be available in the offices of District Home Guards Commandants in Shillong, Jowai, Tura, District Training Centres at Nongstoin and Williamnagar, Civil Defence Offices in Nongpoh, Nongstoin, Williamnagar, Baghmara and Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong. The date of issue of forms has been extended to April 11. The last date for submission of application forms is April 20. Detailed advertisement is available at the offices mentioned above and in the offices of the DC of all the Districts.
Auction
The Commandant of 1st Battalion, Meghalaya Police, Mawiong, Shillong has informed that there will be a public auction of condemned smashed empty ammunition cases on the premises of the 1st MLP Battalion, Mawiong at 12 pm on May 4. The store can be inspected by the intending bidders during office hours on all working days by contacting Assistant CO (Trg) /I/C Kote.
Nominations
The Ashoka Chakra series of Gallantry Awards will be announced on Independence Day. Persons of either sex in all walks of life are eligible for these awards. Besides, defence personnel, member of police forces are also eligible for these awards. The Award can also be conferred posthumously. Intending individuals from East Khasi Hills who desire their names to be recommended to the Government for the Award are required to send their nominations to the DC on or before April 10.
