Umsawnongbri water supply
In a written reply circulated in the Assembly, the PHE Minister, Samlin Malniang informed that the Umsawnongbri Water Supply Scheme in Ri-Bhoi has been physically completed in September 2017.
In a supplementary reply raised by Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem, the PHE Minister said that residents will get water when work is complete. Syiem also asked the Minister to provide employment to the individuals as muster rolls or casual employees, who donated land.
Road improvement
The DPR for the improvement of NH-127 B from Nidanpur to Rajabala was submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi and the work will start as and when sanction is received, PWD (Roads) Minister, Prestone Tynsong said in a written reply to a query by Congress MLA Azad Zaman. Replying to a supplementary query by Zaman, Tynsong said that the road is a total length of 93 km.
Fire Brigade expansion
The PWD (Roads) Minister, Prestone Tynsong in the reply circulated to a query raised by Congress MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh, stated that the land acquisition for the expansion and realignment of the Fire Brigade Junction is under process. Again, he added that all related departments will be taken on board with regard to the proposed expansion and realignment plan.
Replying to a supplementary query raised by Lyngdoh, Tynsong said that the proposal for land acquisition was initiated by the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills. He added that the required amount has been deposited with the DC and the DC sent a letter to enhance the amount to Rs 38, 83, 540 .
