Garo Hills Police control numbers for reporting objectionable SMS

TURA: In view of the Election Commission of India’s announcement of by-election to the 53-Ampati (ST) Assembly constituency, the Superintendent of Police, South West Garo Hills, BSW Momin has issued an official communiqué regarding circulation of objectionable SMSes.

The receiver of any objectionable SMS, which  violates the provisions of election law, Model Code of Conduct and the Election Commission’s directions, has been asked to forward such SMSes to the dedicated Police Control numbers along with the contact number from which such SMS was received to enable the police to initiate appropriate inquiry and trace the original sender of such SMS and take appropriate action under relevant provisions of the IPC, Representation of the People Act, 1951 and Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.

The following are the Police Control numbers for reporting such violations: 8014449447, 8732849310 and 9436369561.

24×7 call centre set up for Ampati by-poll

Meanwhile, in a separate notification, the District Election Officer, Ampati, has informed that a 24×7 Call Centre has been set up in the Control Room of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, Ampati in the larger interest of the general public.

Anyone having complaints or queries in connection with the by-election to the 53-Ampati (ST) Assembly constituency he/she may contact the Call Centre at 7630057049.
