SHILLONG: It has been than three years since they have come over ground, but many cadres of the A’chik National Volunteers Council-B (ANVC-B) have not got their rehabilitation package yet.

The former chairman of ANVC-B, Bernard N Marak said that the group had recently submitted a reminder to the Home Minister urging him to clear their rehabilitation package at the earliest

According to   Marak, the cadres were supposed to get Rs 2.5 lakh each but some of them have got only Rs 1.5 lakhs each and the government has not provided them with the list of the cadres who were given Rs 1.5 lakh as compensation.

He stated that altogether 272 verified cadres were supposed to get the rehabilitation benefit.

“But now we are in dark as we don’t know how many cadres have been given Rs 1.5 lakh each as rehabilitation package,” he said and added that the names of many officers and cadres of the group were not found in the list.

It may be mentioned that the agreed text of settlement was signed between the Centre, State Government and the A’ chik National Volunteer Council (ANVC) and its splinter group ANVC (B) in New Delhi on September 24, 2014.
