JFA expresses grief over editor’s demise

GUWAHATI: Journalists’ Forum Assam (JFA) has expressed grief over the

demise of Jeowari Basumatary, an editor based in Kokrajhar, on

Thursday night and urged the police to investigate the matter

seriously.

Local media reports narrated that the Executive Editor of Bodo

language daily ‘Bodosa’ hanged herself in her residence.

Jeowari, 32, left behind her husband, mother, brother and sisters. Her

father was Chino Basumatary, who worked as the Chief Editor of

‘Bodosa’ and also served as president of All Assam Small Newspaper Owners’ Association.
