Police officer killed in gun battle with ULFA-I

GUWAHATI: An Assam police officer was killed another cop injured during a gunbattle between a joint team of Army and Assam police and militants belonging to the banned ULFA-I at Bordumsa in Tinsukia district of eastern Assam today.
The slain police official wad identified as Bhaskar Bora, officer-in-Charge of Bordumsa Police station.His driver was also injured in the incident.
Police said the joint operation was launched against a group of ULFA -I militants led by one commander called Rupam Asom.
