TURA: Organizations from Garo Hills including the GSU, FKJGP, AYWO and ADE have written to West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner demanding the immediate closure of the GLR Pharmaceuticals in Hawakhana which they alleged is functioning illegally.

“Bernard Marak suddenly becomes the partner of GLR Pharmaceuticals. We do not believe he is a partner but running a protection racket because he means to use his self-deluded power as an ex Chairman of the ANVC-B because the Trading by Non-Tribals (TNT) of Vivek Agarwal, Uma Agarwal and Manoj Agarwal has recently been cancelled by the GHADC. He means to keep the business house running illegally in lieu of money,” the organizations claimed.

The organizations added that as Manoj Agarwal’s TNT is also cancelled, who is also a partner of the GLR Pharmaceuticals he has no right to continue opening his hardware shop at Hawakhana. The organizations also pointed out that Vivek Agarwal also does not have the right to open his clinic, the Excel Care Clinic near Prime Alternatives at Tura Bazar as his TNT has also been cancelled.

“The owner of the building Smt Jurinitha K Marak, a resident of Araimile, Tura has also issued a letter to Shri Vivek Agarwal of Brahminpara, Tura because he has refused to pick up phone calls from her. She cites various reasons for her actions prominently the breach of trust which is induction of a controversial person like Rimpu Marak who is known for his disruptive activities,” they said.

Stating that allowing these business houses to continue functioning would pose serious risk to the peaceful atmosphere of Tura Town, the organizations urged the DC to intervene and take necessary steps to close them down immediately.
