Demonstration
Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions and Associations demonstrated in front of GPO on Thursday to protest against the recent sky-rocketing price rise in fuel. The association also demanded a roll back of price hike of all commodities and strengthening the public distribution system.
IGNOU
IGNOU has informed that the last date of submission of re-registration form for both online & offline of all courses and programmes for the July 2018 session has been extended till June 15.
Emission test
As part of the World Environment Day, the Khasi Hills Tata Sumo Tourist Taxi Driver’s association in collaboration with the office of Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board will conduct vehicular emission test at the Additional Secretariat parking lot on June 2 from 9: 30 am.
Cleaning drive

Workshop
A one-day orientation workshop for farmers on the theme “Triggering Growth in Rural Megha-laya through Mushroom” was inaugurated by governor Ganga Prasad at Raj Bhavan, on Thursday. The workshop was jointly organised by the Governor’s Secretariat in collaboration with the Directorate of Horticulture and the Megha-laya Institute of Entrepreneurship.
Public hearing
A public hearing will be held at the Indoor Stadium, Kynshi village, West Khasi Hills on June 12, at 11 am to conduct Social Impact Assessment Study for acquisition of land measuring of land in West Khasi Hills for construction of NH 44E of Manai to Wahreng road, in Mairang.

North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy organized a three-day regional seminar on the topic “Prospects of yoga & naturopathy in Health care system in present era” on Wednesday.
Awareness event
A one-day awareness programme on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 was organised in Mynthong village, Jowai on Wednesday.
