Protesters hail from WKH
The agitators, who continued to resist the security personnel in parts of the city hail from West Khasi Hills, according to the district administration.
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner P S Dkhar said after the arrest of 11 protesters in city on Friday night, it was revealed that they are from West Khasi Hills.
“The headmen from different city localities told us that the agitated youths are not from their localities,” Dkhar said. The deputy commissioner asked the headmen to convey to the protestors to go back to their respective places. The district administration will inquire who brought them to the city.

Victims released from NEIGRIHMS
The two sons and nephew of SPTS bus driver Skylin Roy Marbaniang who were undergoing treatment at NEIGRIHMS, were released on Friday, sources said.
Earlier, Congress legislator H M Shangpliang visited them at the hospital since they were originally from Rangweng, under Mawsynram constituency
