Meghalaya govt takes time to restore internet services in Shillong

SHILLONG: The State Government is going slowly before finally lifting all restrictions on the internet services.

Home Minister, James Sangma said that internet services would be restored slowly  and  Government was monitoring the situation and depending on the situation, services would be resumed.

When contacted, an official from a reputed mobile service provider said that they had been asked by the Meghalaya Government to stop the internet services till Friday 2  PM and then fresh directives woulf be given by the Government.

Meanwhile, SMS services were resumed in all the mobile cellular companies  from Thursday evening.

It may be mentioned that the   internet services were banned in entire city  from early morning of June 1  after clashes broke out in the city and to ptevent spreading of rumours, Government  stopped the internet services in Shillong
