SHILLONG: Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma has  said that there was no  political colour to the efforts of the State Government to declare Ranikor as a Civil Sub division.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Conrad Sangma  said that the Government had moved with the issue since people have been suffering in Ranikor for a very long time and Government thought  of Ranikor Civil Sub Division to bring people institution and governance closer to the people

He said that the people in the area were happy with the move of the government and MLAs and Congress party workers who were willing to join NPP was the reaction of the government’s move.

“They (Congress) have to figure out their issues and we have gone ahead with the idea to make things easy for the people and bringing the administration closer,”   Sangma added

Denying that there was any political gain behind the move, the Chief Minister admitted that sometimes political implications did take place which was not the plan of the Government.

When asked if more Congress MLAs would join the NPP, he said that there was no political colour to the decision of the Government which would continue to work for the people and if there were  others who wanted to join the alliance, they were welcomed
