The Congress MDCs sent a letter of support which bore the signatures of Kimfa S Marbaniang, Donevan Wanlang, Lamphrang Blah and Process T Sawkmie on June 14 to Syiem, who was a Congress rebel and currently chairman of PDF.

The coalition partners in the PDA are PDF, Congress, UDP, NPP, HSPDP and one independent MDC. Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) MDC, Adelbert Nongrum is not supporting the PDA.

Speaking to reporters, Syiem said the support given by the MDCs was crucial at a time when discussions on important issues of MUDA, Sweepers’ Lane (Iew Them Metor) were on.
