An official statement in this regard said that LRH was created to promote local artisans, support rural economies by providing opportunities for supplementary income to agriculture.
School of Livelihood and Rural Development (SLRD) strives to bridge the rural-urban divide by strengthening rural communities through the provision of urban amenities and livelihood opportunities in rural areas.
The organisation believes that sustainable development can be achieved by empowering budding entrepreneurs in the rural level with the required skills and support to start their own ventures.
A standout feature of the initiative by SLRD and LRH is that the skilling activities are designed around the lifestyle and skill set of the beneficiaries, which makes them more effective and far reaching.
LRH also ensures quality standardisation and seeks to create the market as well as local awareness for the products. The product designs have been innovated to keep in tune with the latest trends in the market as well as the skill and time constraints of the artisans. The showcase will include apparel, accessories, and mementos created by the artisans that are unmistakably local and undeniably elegant.
