MLA promises devp in WKH constituency

NONGSTOIN: Six villages of Rambrai-Jyrngam constituency under Mawdet polling station in West Khasi Hills District felicitated the newly-elected MLA of Rambrai, Kimfa Sydney Marbaniang on Saturday. They also submitted a memorandum to the legislator seeking development of the constituency.
The felicitation programme held at Mawdet Upper Primary School was chaired by T.K Bani, Sordar of Mawlangbah village and attended by the headmen of the six villages along with local residents.
Addressing the event, B.I Nongsiej, Mawdet village secretary said the purpose of organising the event was to create a close relationship between the public and the MLA.
 “We are here to bring to the notice of the MLA the difficulties faced by our people”, said Nongsiej. He added that the polling station was one of the few in Rambrai-Jyrngam which had voted in large number for the newly elected legislator in the last Assembly election.The MLA appreciated the organisers for the felicitation and assured that he will bring change in the area with help from the locals.
“I hope that with the guidance and inspiration of the people, I will be able to bring unity among the people of the constituency in bringing development for the welfare of the society,’’ he said.
He assured that he will follow up various developmental issues and will continue to serve the people of Rambrai- Jyrngam.Among others who attended the event included K. Maram, Sordar of Marwa, K.K Bani, Sordar of Stepwan, K. Mawleih, Sordar of Mawdet and B. Langrin, village Secretary of Mawshad.
