SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Gorkha Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare Association, Shillong organised a get-together of ex-servicemen at CERA Community Hall, Jhalupara on June 23.
The programme was attended by local Legislator Sanbor Shullai who was also the chief guest, special guest (Retd. Maj) N. S Thapa, (Retd. Lt. Col) Dr. R Puri, (Retd Major) Dr. K. L Singh, (Legal Adv.) S. P Sharma, along with host of other dignitaries.
The association lauded the efforts of Shullai in uplifting the plight of civilians residing within Cantonment area in general and the Gorkhas in particular.
The association has also felicitated the legislator in winning the last election for the 3rd consecutive term by presenting him with a Gorkha traditional cap, khaada shawl and a khukri.
