SHILLONG: Deputy chief minister and chairman of the high level committee, Prestone Tynsong has asserted that “there was no question of injustice to anyone” as the committee was on the job to find a permanent solution to the long-pending issue of relocation of the Punjabli Lane residents.
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, Tynsong said the government was here to protect everybody even as he requested people from outside the state not to misunderstand the committee and its work.
“Give us time as we are trying to arrive at a permanent solution to the issue and there is no need to make it a regional or national issue,” Tynsong said.
The deputy CM assured that no injustice would be done with anyone as it was the responsibility of the government to provide justice to each and every one.
Maintaining that the ongoing issue was a matter of the state, he assured that the state government would handle it properly and everybody would be happy.
Tynsong further said the committee would sit again after getting the report of the land and inventorisation survey conducted in the colony while assuring that the panel would submit its report before the government at the earliest.
