Dr PK Goswami joins as new VC of USTM

GUWAHATI:  Dr Pradyut Kumar Goswami, the former Vice Chancellor of Assam Science and Technology University, has taken over  as the new Vice Chancellor of the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya  (USTM) on Wednesday. A Post Graduate from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan, Dr PK Goswami did his PhD from Imperial College, University of London, UK and M. Tech in electrical engineering from IIT Madras.

Dr Goswami received warm welcome from the USTM Chancellor M Hoque and the other high officials and faculty members of the University. Taking charge as the new Vice Chancellor of USTM he said, “I am very much aware of the growth and development of the University of Science & Technology Meghalaya and the far sighted mission of its Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque. I am happy to be a part of USTM and would put my best efforts with all my past experiences to contribute to the growth of the University”.

Dr PK Goswami has been a recipient of several international academic fellowships including JSPS fellowship for post doctoral research in Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan; Quality Improvement Programme Scholarship from the Government of India and State Overseas Scholarship for PhD at Imperial College, London from the Government of Assam. Formerly, Dr Goswami has been Principal, Assam Engineering College.
